wandering through then

i've got wanderlust, for past eras. the 20's, 30's. i would really love to be spending these hot still days in a soft lazy manner and these breezy chirping nights in a whirling daze.

morning:
barefoot. tea & toast with jam while feeling the wind twist through the curtains of the kitchen window. catching sun rays with peripheral vision flickering on proximity glass.

afternoon:
barefoot. collecting wild flowers for an antique vase, laying in a field watching clouds change shape, bird songs, clinking ice cubes in iced tea, not a care in the world.

evening/night:
barefoot. a silk dress and champagne cocktails, wrapped around the hug of a handsome boy on a dance floor, swinging amongst wide open laughter, living aloud, a clock that doesn't know how to tell time.

.repeat.

i'd say it's about time for some free art.

i'm giving away the above piece, 'Ringmaster', a 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" original mini mixed media painting on stretched canvas.

the rules:
all you have to do is leave a comment on this post about what era you would time travel to if you could.

one entry per person. spread the word on your blog for a second entry. simply comment on this post with a link to your post. what the heck, spread the word however you'd like and just let me know here!

i will put all names into a proverbial hat and draw on Saturday June 11th at 8:00pm EST. please make sure you leave an email contact in your comment so i can get in touch with you if you win.

xoxo
la bonne nuit belle

Hi there. My name is Jen. I picked up your card at the Sweet Sadie Boutique. This is the only way I could see to contact you. I love your work. If you are interested in doing our boutique, let me know. Below is what we sent out to vendors.

Hello Vendors,

We are excited to combine our boutique, "Little Missy's Fall Frenzy" with Tree House's! It is going to be Friday, October 22, 2010, one day only, 9 to 9 and we are going BIG!!!!!!! (Here are a few reasons we are so excited for the boutique... All vendors will be in the gym, not any issues with some vendors upstairs and others downstairs, Good Things Utah will be involved, A coat drive will wrap up at the boutique, incredible marketing/advertising, a variety of resturants giving out samples and a lounge/sitting area in the center of the gym so customers can stay awhile, eat and shop more!!!) If you or someone you know would like to be a part of our boutique, please reply back or contact me, Jen Cutler @ 801.979.2476 so we can book you an appointment to come to TreeHouse Athletic Club on Friday, June 11, 2010 between 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. to preview a few of the items you would be providing for the boutique. At this appointment myself and a few members of our panel will meet with you, answer questions you have and let you know if your inventory is what we are looking for at our boutique and if it is the right boutique for you as well.

We look forward to meeting with you.

Sincerely,

Jen Cutler

Hi Amanda! If I could travel through time, my destination would be the 60's. I would travel by VW bus and sell my handmade crafts from found objects to support myself along the way. Of course, the highlight of my bus ride would be Woodstock! :)

LOVE your work! I'm going to post about this on my blog - http://mother-natures-daughter.blogspot.com/ I'll have something up there tonight. I bought one of your miniature paintings on Etsy and I'd love to have a second one to display next to it! :)

I think I would go back to around 600 B.C, meet Sapfo and write poetry on her island. Take a class there, perhaps.
